Writing realistic older women! So often, we’re mere cliches within fiction. There are exceptions, of course, but often we’re portrayed either as comic foils or wicked stepmothers. But older women have a wealth of experience to share. We’ve married well or badly or not at all; have raised children; started businesses; taken care of elderly parents; hung out with friends and travelled widely for work or pleasure. Some of us have endured unhappy marriages, or fallen prey to narcissists. We’ve loved and lost, laughed and cried and we deserve to be protagonists in fiction. According to available data, 80% of all fiction readers are women over the age of 45! That’s why I love to write about dysfunctional families with female protagonists who aren’t just starting out in life but have lots of experience to offer. You'll find it on Amazon.
